Audio and microphone access
Microphone access begins only after you press the test button and approve the browser permission prompt. Audio is processed temporarily in the active page using browser audio features. The application does not transmit the recording to an application server, save it to a database, or place it in localStorage or IndexedDB.
The current measurement and result disappear when you refresh or close the page. Your browser and operating system control microphone permissions, which you can revoke at any time.
Accounts, advertising, and analytics
The site has no user accounts, advertising trackers, or marketing pixels. We use Google Analytics to understand basic site usage such as page views, traffic sources, approximate location, and device or browser type. We also use Microsoft Clarity to understand page interactions through tools such as heatmaps and session replays. These services may use cookies and process ordinary device and request information under Google's Privacy Policy and Microsoft's Privacy Statement.
Google Analytics may receive limited interaction events such as starting or completing a test, a microphone permission outcome, a broad error category, choosing to retest, or using the share control. These events do not include microphone audio, acoustic measurements, result text, or microphone device names.
Your microphone audio and acoustic test result are not sent to Google Analytics. The interactive test area is explicitly masked from Clarity recordings, so its displayed measurements are not uploaded to Clarity. We do not use either analytics service to create a profile from your voice test.
Ordinary website request data
Like other websites, our hosting and network providers may process ordinary request metadata needed to deliver and protect the site. This may include an IP address, browser information, requested URL, timestamps, and security events. Those providers handle data under their own policies and infrastructure controls.
External links
Methodology and resource pages may link to professional or academic sources. Their privacy practices apply after you leave this website.
Children
This site is an educational acoustic tool and is not designed to collect personal information from children. Because no account is required, please do not send identifying or sensitive information by email.
Changes
If the product later adds accounts, server-side audio processing, advertising, or other data collection, this policy and the interface will be updated before those features are enabled.
